ecommerce industry has become a fastest growing industry in the Indian economy.
Many businessman are changing their traditional route to selling the products
and providing the services from a physical route to digital route. They are

Legal requirements
There
are two basic legal requirement to start your online business.
a) GST registration
b) Trademark registration
As
per policy of many websites, which are providing the platform to sell the
goods, makes the GST registration requirement is mandatory. If you want to sell
the products online by registering on their website then you have to take a GST
registration for doing online business.
Trademark
registration is not mandatory requirement to start online business, It’s depend
on your product. If you are selling the product of other registered brand then
you do not have to take any trademark registration but if you are selling a
self factory manufactured product then in that case you have to take a
trademark registration in relation to your products. Brand registration makes
the product different from other products.
Open a current account
After
taking a GST registration, you have to open a current account with any bank as
suitable for you. When you sell the products through online route and complete
the transaction between buyer and seller. You should have a current account for
receiving payment from aggregator (Service provider, providing the platform for
selling the products) in respect of your sold product.
Documentation
You
need to get registered as a seller on online marketplaces. You will require to
some documents to get registered as a seller.
- GSTIN
- Pan Card
- Address proof
- Cancel Cheque
With these documents you
will get registered as a seller. Then you can start listing your products and
getting orders.
